700+ weeks on snow. 17-time Danish Freeski Champion. World Championship competitor. When it comes to skiing in Denmark, Nikolaj Vang is absolute royalty.
From a childhood in slalom racing to a legendary 20-year career as a professional freeskier, Nikolaj has spent his life redefining what is possible on two planks. You’ve likely seen him as the ultimate ski expert on DR and TV 2, starring in over 10 ski movies, or coaching the next generation.
Today, he works with the Danish Ski Federation, continuing to shape the sport he lives for.
Now based in Hornbæk with his wife and two sons, Nikolaj faces a different kind of extreme challenge: balancing family life with his relentless hunger for the mountains. His strategy for mastering both? Pure optimization. 
“I always prioritise getting a morning to myself during a ski trip. As long as I get to carve a hard turn on a freshly groomed piste, blast a faceshot in fresh powder, or skin up a mountainside, I have all the patience and energy in the world for countless hours cruising the kids’ area.”
